Poland adds two more companies to its sanctions list. They are linked to steel supplies to Russia, RMF24 informs.

According to reports, Poland’s National Revenue Administration (KAS) announced on Tuesday, October 7, that two companies — SteelTrade and Omni GRP — have been added to the national sanctions list.

Three individuals linked to these companies — Andrey Karpovich, Veronika Pental, and Vladimir Leshchuk — were also sanctioned. They are shareholders or beneficial owners of the firms.

"Inclusion on the sanctions list is the result of the National Revenue Administration’s activities aimed at verifying the connections of individuals or organizations with the Russian Federation or Belarus that may affect Poland’s security," KAS stated.

It is noted that OMNI GRP is linked to SteelTrade, formerly known as EMK GROUP, which in turn is associated with other business entities from the EMK group operating in the metallurgical industry in Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan.

According to the Polish tax authority, the companies exported steel with special properties suitable for high-pressure casting — a material often used in weapons manufacturing due to its strength and resistance to extreme conditions.

KAS emphasizes that there is a high probability that this steel ended up in Russian defense plants.

Authorities also uncovered a mechanism by which the products were sent to Russia through a network of affiliated companies, contributing to the strengthening of its industrial potential.

Poland first imposed its own sanctions against Russia in 2022, following the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. At that time, 50 Russian oligarchs and companies were placed under restrictions.
