Polish intelligence services have detained a Belarusian agent. The arrest was achieved through cooperation between the intelligence agencies of several countries, according to Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

"ABW (Polish Internal Security Agency) yesterday detained a Belarusian agent. The arrest was the result of cooperation with intelligence services, including those of Romania and Czechia," Tusk wrote on X.

He also clarified that Poland will expel a Belarusian diplomat who supported aggressive actions by the Belarusian intelligence against the state.

Dismantling of the Belarusian spy network

Recently, European intelligence services dismantled a Belarusian spy network operating in Europe. The network was organized by the Belarusian State Security Committee (KGB) to recruit agents and gather intelligence.

Among those exposed were KGB employees and a former deputy of Moldova’s intelligence service (SIS), who planned to pass classified information to Belarusian intelligence.

Additionally, Czechia is expelling a Belarusian embassy staffer who worked for the KGB. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that it will not allow diplomatic cover to be used for espionage.

Intelligence agencies noted Belarus was able to build a network in Europe, partly due to the free movement across European countries.
