Poland creates Council for Cooperation with Ukraine
Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk has created the Council for Cooperation with Ukraine by his order. The new public body will deal with bilateral relations and the issues of Ukraine's restoration, according to Pavlo Koval, leading Ukraine's representation in the Polish government.
"This will be a public body that will include representatives from science, business, government, and local authorities. Its composition will be formed in the coming weeks," Koval noted.
According to him, various working groups will operate within the Council, which will cooperate with Polish analytical centres and have representations in the regions.
The authorized person for Ukraine's restoration also emphasized that the detailed structure and functions of the body will be determined soon. However, it is already known that the idea is to create an institution that will apply a comprehensive approach to Polish-Ukrainian relations.
"We proceed from the assumption that they are unique, not only due to historical issues but also due to Poland's participation in assisting Ukraine and Poland's role in its restoration process," he added.
He also added that the goal of the Council is to ensure the participation of as many Polish companies, local authorities, and non-governmental organizations as possible in the process of Ukraine's restoration.
Restoration of Ukraine
Earlier it became known that Germany is lobbying among EU partners for the creation of a new investment fund to support private investments in Ukraine to help address the issue of massive post-war reconstruction costs.
It was also reported that the European Commission has developed a plan for Ukraine's recovery after the end of the war with Russia.
President of Lithuania Gitanas Nauseda also stated that the West should not only talk about rebuilding Ukraine's war-ravaged economy but also about making it better.
