Poisoning of Ukrainian spy boss's wife confirmed by intelligence, details
Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense confirms the poisoning of Marianna Budanova, wife of the intelligence chief, as Andrii Yusov, a representative of the agency, says in a comment to RBC-Ukraine.
Confirmation by the intelligence
According to him, Marianna Budanova was indeed poisoned with heavy metals and is currently undergoing a course of treatment, which is already ending.
Yusov also confirmed the fact of poisoning of several employees of the intelligence.
What the police say
According to RBC-Ukraine sources in law enforcement agencies, no statement about the poisoning of Budanova's wife has been received by the police.
"But the information that appeared in the media is known," said the source.
Budanov's wife was poisoned
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that the wife of the head of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, was poisoned with heavy metals. Marianna Budanova is in the hospital and is already completing her course of treatment.
As the source told the media, it is currently unknown whether it was a one-time poisoning or whether Marianna was poisoned gradually over some time.
The UP media, citing sources, mentioned that Budanova was most likely "poisoned through food." Currently, an investigation is underway concerning the possible attempted murder.
Sources in the special services also informed about Budanov's condition after the news of the poisoning of his wife. He is in good health, and no poisoning has been confirmed.
