The US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth announced the launch of a large-scale declassification process involving data related to unidentified anomalous phenomena, according to a publication from the US Department of War.

US launches release of UFO archives

In the United States, a procedure has begun to search, analyze, and gradually declassify government materials related to unidentified flying objects and anomalous phenomena.

The process is being carried out under the supervision of the US Department of War, with the participation of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.

It involves large-scale work covering tens of millions of documents accumulated over decades.

Many of them exist only in paper form and require a detailed review before publication.

Gradual release of data

Authorities said the declassification will take place in stages. New materials are planned to be published regularly as they are discovered and cleared for release.

Thus, the process may take a long time due to the volume of archives and the need for interagency coordination.

What the archives contain

According to official data, the materials being declassified include so-called "unresolved cases" of observations for which government agencies have not yet been able to provide definitive explanations.

The reason for this is cited as a lack of data and the need for further analysis.

At the same time, authorities allow the involvement of private-sector experts to study certain materials and help interpret the information.

Pentagon statement

The US Department of War emphasized that the publication of archives is part of a transparency policy.

The agency states its intention to provide public access to previously classified information and to gradually disclose the results of government work in this field.

The CIA previously released declassified materials mentioning a possible incident involving Soviet military personnel and an unidentified flying object. According to the report, the documents consider the possibility of an unknown-origin attack on a group of soldiers.

Residents of Odesa reported seeing an unusual object in the sky that was glowing and reminded them of an unidentified flying phenomenon. According to eyewitnesses, light points were visible in the airspace, which drew attention and sparked discussion on social media.
