Pavlohrad under fire, drone terror in Odesa and Shostka: Inside Ukraine’s latest attack

Russia attacked Ukraine overnight and into the morning of July 19 with hundreds of drones and missiles of various types. The enemy targeted Pavlohrad, Odesa, and Shostka in the Sumy region.

Since the evening of July 18, Russia has launched attack drones and drone imitators at Ukraine. As of the morning of July 19, Ukrainian air defense continues to shoot down enemy drones.
In addition, early in the morning, Russian forces launched missiles at Ukraine. Movement of targets was recorded in several regions, including missiles reaching Khmelnytskyi region.
According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the enemy attacked Ukrainian cities with over 300 attack drones and more than 30 missiles of various types.
Zelenskyy noted that the following regions were affected: Donetsk, Kirovohrad, Dnipro, Sumy, Kherson, Volyn, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Odesa, and Zhytomyr.
Number of drones and missiles
As later clarified by the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia attacked Ukraine that night with 344 drones and 35 missiles, specifically:

12 ballistic missiles Iskander-M/KN-23 launched from Voronezh, Kursk, Rostov regions, and Crimea;

8 Iskander-K cruise missiles, launched from Millerovo;

15 Kh-101 cruise missiles from the airspace of Saratov region.
Air defense forces neutralized 185 drones and 23 missiles. Additionally, 7 cruise missiles and 129 drone imitators failed to reach their targets.
There were confirmed hits by 5 missiles and 30 attack drones across 12 locations, with debris from downed targets falling in 7 locations.
Odesa
The enemy launched a massive attack on Odesa with attack drones. The drone raid damaged buildings and caused a fire in a nine-story apartment building, affecting floors six through nine.
According to the State Emergency Service, five people were rescued from the burning apartments; unfortunately, one rescued woman died.
Police report that as of the morning, the number of injured in Odesa has risen to six, including a child.

Pavlohrad
The Russian army attacked the city of Pavlohrad with missiles and drones; this was one of the enemy’s most massive assaults.
"Hellish night and morning for Pavlohrad. The heaviest attack on the city. Explosion after explosion. Russian terrorists targeted the city with missiles and drones," reported Serhiy Lysak, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration.
In Pavlohrad, a fire station, industrial enterprises, and a five-story building were damaged, and fires broke out.

In the morning, explosions were heard again in Pavlohrad amid the threat of ballistic missiles and attack drones.
Shostka
Oleh Hryhorov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, reported a massive drone attack on the Shostka community that lasted nearly four hours.
As a result of the enemy’s attack, civilian infrastructure was destroyed. There was also damage to residential areas. Fortunately, there were no casualties.

Explosions were also heard in Shostka in the morning. This occurred after the Ukrainian Air Force warned of KAB missile launches toward the Sumy region. Later, the head of the Shostka community reported that Russia carried out an airstrike on Shostka with a KAB missile; emergency rescue teams are responding.
According to the president, critical infrastructure in Sumy was damaged, leaving several thousand families without power.
Recall that on the evening of July 18, Russian drones were shot down over Kyiv. Explosions were heard in the city due to air defense operations. According to the Kyiv City State Administration, a part of an enemy drone fell onto the roof of a residential building in the Darnytskyi district.
