Russian partisans destroyed a platoon-level strongpoint of Russian forces in the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation, according to the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
"Opponents of the Kremlin regime launched an attack in the Belgorod region," according to intelligence sources.
The Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported on the occurrence of combat clashes near the settlement of Terebreno in the Belgorod region.
As a result of the attack carried out by Russian partisans in the Belgorod region, a platoon-level strongpoint of Russian forces was destroyed.
"The unexpected assault on the positions of the units of the army of terrorist Russia caused a panic reaction among the personnel of the local garrison," explained the Main Directorate of Intelligence.
Intelligence sources revealed that as a consequence of the partisans' attack, under the orders of the commanders of the Russian forces, chaotic artillery fire was opened on the surrounding villages.
What the fighters of the Legion Freedom of Russia say
The Legion Freedom of Russia announced on its Telegram channel that its fighters conducted a raid into the territory of the Belgorod region.
"The assault groups of the Legion have completed all assigned tasks and successfully returned to the territory of Ukraine," the Legion stated.
According to them, today, on December 17, the assault units of the Legion Freedom of Russia entered the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation, destroyed a platoon's stronghold of Russian forces near Terebreno, completed the assigned tasks, and have already returned.
