The partisan movement Atesh has claimed a sabotage operation in the Moscow region, which allegedly disrupted elements of Russia's air defense system on the approaches to Moscow.
According to Atesh its agents damaged several communication towers in the areas of Putilkovo, Kommunarka, and Domodedovo.
The movement claims that electronic warfare modules were installed on these sites, providing control of low-flying targets, data transmission, and coordination between Russian air defense units.
According to representatives of the group, the sabotage allegedly resulted in the Moscow-area air defense system losing part of its observation points.
"Without these devices, data on low-flying targets is no longer transmitted in time — response speed decreases, and some routes remain unprotected," the group stated.
Drone attacks and a new air defense ring around Moscow
Recall that on the night of May 4, a drone struck Moscow — an explosion was reported on Mosfilmovskaya Street, about six kilometers from the Kremlin.
On May 7, residents of the Moscow region also reported drone flights, explosions, and air defense activity in several areas. In particular, in Naro-Fominsk, the Nara production and logistics complex belonging to Russia's Ministry of Defense came under attack.
Following a series of attacks, journalists and OSINT analysts reported that another layer of air defense has begun to be built around Moscow. This involves new positions for Pantsir air defense systems installed on special towers in the Moscow region.
