Another ring of air defense positions is being built around Moscow, including Pantsir anti-aircraft missile systems mounted on towers, according to Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty.

Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty discovered this with the help of OSINT enthusiasts, analyzing satellite imagery of the Moscow region and neighboring regions.

Journalists first came across the first tower of the new ring on February 16, when they managed to geolocate a photo of an air defense missile impact near the city of Kashira in the Moscow region.

Currently, the number of air defense systems surrounding Moscow since 2023 has exceeded 100 units.

Meanwhile, shortly before May 9, Vladimir Putin’s residence in Valdai was blurred on Yandex.Maps.

Previously, the Yandex search engine had only blurred military facilities and defense industry enterprises on its satellite map.

Over the past few years, Putin's Valdai residence, where Alina Kabaeva spends a lot of time with his sons, has been surrounded by more than 25 air defense systems.

Drone attacks on Moscow

Five days before the parade, on the night of May 4, a drone attacked Moscow. An explosion occurred 6 kilometers from the Kremlin, on Mosfilmovskaya Street.

There were no casualties. Mayor Sergei Sobyanin confirmed the attack. At the same time, drones were spotted in the sky over Samara.

On May 7, in the Moscow region, residents reported drone flights, explosions, and air defense activity in many areas. In Naro-Fominsk, an attack was recorded on the Nara production and logistics complex, which belongs to the Russian Ministry of Defense.
