Russian forces attacked Ukrainian territory overnight on September 11 with 66 drones of various types. The majority of them were destroyed by air defense forces, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.

“Overnight on September 11, the enemy attacked with 66 strike UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, and other types launched from Kursk, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, more than 50 of them being Shahed UAVs,” the Air Force noted.

Anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems forces, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s Defense Forces repelled the aerial assault.

According to preliminary data, as of 09:00 a.m. Kyiv time, air defense forces shot down or suppressed 62 enemy UAVs in the north, south, and east of the country. Four strike drones hit three locations.

Russia’s strike on Ukraine on September 11

On the evening of September 11, Russian forces launched drones against Ukraine, with air raid alerts sounding mainly in the northern and eastern regions.

Later, around 01:00 a.m. on September 11, explosions sounded in Sumy. The Sumy Regional Military Administration reported a strike by attack drones on the Zarichny district of the city.

The drones hit a residential area and a school building, causing a fire at the site. The State Emergency Service also released footage showing the aftermath of the enemy strike on the regional center.
