On the night of July 17, Russians launched an attack on Ukrainian territory using 64 Shahed-type strike drones and various types of decoy drones, reports the Ukrainian Air Force.

It's noted that the strikes were launched from three directions: Kursk, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia. The main direction of the attack targeted the Dnipropetrovsk region.

According to the Air Force, the enemy attack was repelled by aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare (EW), and drone systems, as well as mobile fire units of Ukraine's Defense Forces.

As of 08:30, preliminary data indicates that air defense forces shot down 36 enemy drones over the north and east of the country. Additionally, 5 decoy drones were either lost or neutralized by EW systems. However, 23 drones struck five different locations.

Explosions were heard in Dnipro and the city of Samar around midnight during the Russian drone attack. Fires broke out in the city, industrial facilities were damaged, and there were civilian casualties.

According to the regional military administration, one person was killed in the regional center and five others were injured. Men aged 35, 37, 40, and 52 were hospitalized — three of them are in serious condition. A 70-year-old victim is being treated at home. Several fires broke out in the city, and industrial facilities were damaged by the shelling.
