Over 500 bodies of fallen Ukrainians returned to Ukraine

As a result of repatriation measures, Ukraine has received the bodies of 528 people killed in the war, which, according to the Russian side, may belong to Ukrainian service members, the press service of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War and the Security Service of Ukraine reported.
It is noted that law enforcement investigators, together with representatives of forensic expert institutions, will carry out all necessary procedures to identify the repatriated remains.
The repatriation process was made possible through the joint and coordinated work of representatives of the Coordination Headquarters, the Joint Center under the Security Service of Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Office of the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, the Secretariat of the Commissioner for Missing Persons under Special Circumstances, the State Emergency Service, and other security and defense bodies.
"We express sincere gratitude to the International Committee of the Red Cross for its assistance and support in carrying out repatriation measures," the Coordination Headquarters added.

Body exchanges
Recall that on April 9, another 1,000 bodies of the dead were returned to Ukraine, which may belong to fallen Ukrainian soldiers.
Another exchange took place on February 26. Ukraine also received 1,000 bodies that may belong to its defenders.
Earlier, on December 19, 1,003 bodies were returned from Russia. In exchange, the Russian side received the remains of its soldiers.
