Russia launched a combined drone and missile strike on Ukraine during the night of June 7. Air defense forces intercepted most of the targets, but some hits still occurred, according to the Ukrainian Air Forces on Telegram.

That night, the Russians launched a total of 215 targets at Ukraine, including:

  • 206 attack drones and various types of drone imitators, launched from the areas of Bryansk, Kursk, Orel, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and Chauda (Crimea);

  • 2 ballistic missiles Iskander-M/KN-23 from the Voronezh region;

  • 6 guided aviation missiles Kh-59/69 from tactical aviation aircraft in the airspace over Zaporizhzhia region;

  • 1 cruise missile Iskander-K from the Rostov region.

The night attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, drone systems, and mobile fire groups.

Air defense forces intercepted 167 drones overnight (87 shot down, 80 location losses/suppressed by electronic warfare), shot down 6 Kh-59/69 missiles and one Iskander-K cruise missile.

According to the Ukrainian Air Forces, hits were recorded in 10 locations, and falling debris in 7 locations.

Consequences of the Russian attack

During the night, Russian invaders launched a massive attack on Kharkiv. According to local authorities, this was the most powerful strike on the city since the start of the war.

It is known that the Russians attacked Kharkiv with over 50 drones, guided bombs (KAB), and a missile. Two districts were targeted. Three people were killed, and more than 20 were injured.

The occupiers also attacked the Dnipropetrovsk region overnight. Air defense forces destroyed 6 missiles and 27 rockets in the region. The invaders struck Dnipro and Pavlohrad, with casualties reported.

In Kherson, a couple — a 56-year-old man and a 54-year-old woman — were killed due to Russian shelling.
