Over 100 killed daily: Russian losses surge amid Avdiivka battle
Due to the fighting near Avdiivka, losses among Russian military personnel have significantly increased. Russia is losing more than a hundred soldiers daily, reports Mediazona.
According to a Russian news agency, the team is averaging over a hundred fatalities per day recently.
"This is a significant increase, as, throughout the summer and early fall, we were receiving around eighty obituaries per day. It's linked to the fighting near the city of Avdiivka," noted the Russian media.
In the past two weeks, Mediazona states a significant number of officers with the rank of lieutenant colonel have been confirmed deceased. According to their data, this is notably associated with strikes on command posts.
Frontline situation
Nearly one and a half months ago, the occupiers intensified their offensive in the area of Avdiivka. Although the Russians have somewhat eased their attacks in recent days, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are expecting a new wave of assaults soon.
Furthermore, the commander of the Eastern military grouping, Oleksandr Syrskii, stated that the occupiers had intensified their activity in the Bakhmut direction. However, our defenders are holding their ground.
According to ISW (Institute for the Study of War), Ukrainian forces are making advances in the Zaporizhzhia region. The Ukrainian Armed Forces managed to reclaim several positions, notably advancing in the area around Robitne.
Over the past day, on November 16, Ukrainian forces eliminated another 1140 Russian terrorists. Since the full-scale Russian invasion began, Russia has lost approximately 316,760 personnel.
