The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has learned about the commencement of an active phase of Russia's information operation under the code name Perun, according to the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU).

As part of this operation, Russia plans to involve foreign journalists, media personalities, and bloggers to justify aggression against Ukraine.

Additionally, Russia will seek to portray the situation around Ukraine from positions advantageous to the Kremlin.

Putin's interview with Carlson

On February 9, an interview with the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin by propagandist Tucker Carlson was published online. In the interview, the Russian dictator made a series of scandalous statements and once again attempted to justify his full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

The Center for Strategic Communications debunked fake statements from Putin's interview, including those about neo-Nazism, Lenin, and Stalin allegedly creating Ukraine, the "civil war," and more.

The DIU said that such an interview could not have been anything but a special operation. One of Putin's most scandalous accusations was directed at Poland, blaming it for the start of World War II. The Kremlin leader fantasized that Warsaw provoked Nazi Germany leader Adolf Hitler because it turned out to be "uncompromised."
