Russians launched a massive airstrike on Odesa region late on Tuesday, March 4. One person has been confirmed dead in the suburbs of Odesa, according to the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper.

A government official stated that as a result of the Russian drone attack, a man was killed in the suburbs of Odesa.

It was clarified that the victim was a 77-year-old resident of the village of Lymanka. He died from shrapnel wounds sustained during the Russian airstrike.

"Heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones," added the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration.

For reference: The village of Lymanka, located in the Tairov village community, is situated in the Odesa district. According to the latest data, the village has a population of 13,085 people and an area of 11.55 square kilometers.

Lymanka is located to the west of the Kyiv district of Odesa, south of the city center.

Massive airstrike on Odesa and region

On the evening of March 4, air raid sirens were sounded in several regions of Ukraine due to the threat of an attack by Russian forces using kamikaze drones.

There were concerns about a massive drone strike on Odesa and its surrounding areas. Local authorities reported that due to enemy strikes on critical infrastructure, parts of Odesa were left without electricity, water, and heat.

The Odesa Regional Military Administration also stated that in the suburbs of Odesa, private houses were damaged by debris from downed Russian drones, and fires broke out.

Additionally, the Russians launched a ballistic missile at the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district, where the missile hit an empty sanatorium, causing almost complete destruction of the building. Fortunately, there were no casualties.
