Explosions were heard in Zaporizhzhia and the region on the evening of Friday, March 21. An air raid alert was declared in the region amid drone and aviation threats, according to the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov.

Around 06:20 PM Kyiv time, an air raid alert was declared in Zaporizhzhia and the region, followed by reports of multiple explosions.

Later, Fedorov clarified that the enemy attack had caused casualties in Zaporizhzhia, as well as damage to private homes and apartment buildings. Detailed information is still being confirmed.

He later reported that five people were injured in the attack on Zaporizhzhia.

"Three people are in serious condition, and two are in moderate condition. Medics are providing them with all necessary assistance. The danger has not passed. Stay in safe places until the all-clear is given," he wrote.

Fedorov also noted that at least three fires had broken out due to the enemy attack.

Earlier, the Air Force had warned of a threat from guided aerial munitions in the region. However, the exact type of weapon used in the strike remains unknown.

Fedorov reported that the enemy attack on Zaporizhzhia had resulted in fatalities.

"The Russian attack on Zaporizhzhia has claimed a life. Rescuers have just recovered the body of a woman from the rubble of a destroyed house," he stated.

Fedorov clarified that the number of wounded from the Russian strike on Zaporizhzhia has risen to six. Two people are in critical condition.

He also shared images of the attack's aftermath.

Later, the head of the Regional Military Administration reported that the Russian army carried out more than 10 strikes on Zaporizhzhia.

"As a result of the attack, residential buildings, private cars, and social infrastructure facilities caught fire. The blast wave and debris also damaged neighboring houses," the official said.

He also published a video showing the aftermath of the enemy attack.

Strike on the suburbs of Zaporizhzhia

On the evening of March 20, the Russian army attacked settlements in the Zaporizhzhia district with guided aerial bombs. The strikes caused fires at the impact sites and left people injured.

According to the regional military administration, the attack ignited vehicles and residential buildings. Emergency services reported that 55 rescuers and 9 units of equipment from the State Emergency Service were deployed to eliminate the consequences.
