On Monday, February 16, six medal events were held at the Winter Olympics 2026. Five athletes from Ukraine competed in four sports.

According to RBC-Ukraine, the day featured new champions, Ukrainian results, and an updated medal table.

Short track: Felszebur repeats success

After winning the 500 m event, the Netherlands’ Xandra Felszebur again climbed to the top step of the podium. This time she became the best at the 1000 m distance.

In the final, the future champion had to withstand serious competition from Canada’s Courtney Sarault and South Korea’s Kim Gil-li, who finished second and third, respectively.

Alpine skiing: Meillard completes full medal set

The Olympic champion in men’s slalom was determined. The winner was Switzerland’s Loic Meillard, for whom these Games became truly medal-rich. The Swiss athlete collected a full set of medals at the 2026 Olympics: today’s gold was added to silver in the team combined and bronze in giant slalom.

The silver medal was won by Austria’s Fabio Gstrein, while bronze went to Norway’s Henrik Kristoffersen.

Ukraine’s Dmytro Shepiuk also competed in this discipline and placed 32nd overall.

Ski jumping: Austria — first champion in super team

For the first time in history, a set of medals was contested in the men’s paired ski jumping tournament — the super team event.

Olympic champions became Austria’s Jan Hoerl and Stefan Embacher. For Embacher, this is his debut Olympic medal, while Hoerl already has Olympic gold — four years ago, he won in the traditional team tournament.

Silver medals were won by Poland’s Pawel Wasek and Kacper Tomasiak. Bronze went to the Norwegian duo — Johann Andre Forfang and Kristoffer Eriksen Sundal.

The Ukrainian team, consisting of Yevhen Marusiak and Vitalii Kalinichenko, placed 14th.
