Odessa under Russian fire: casualties and destruction reported

On the night of Jan. 27, Russia continued striking peaceful Ukrainian cities, with a new wave of attack drones targeting Odesa and the Odesa region, according to Odesa Regional Military Administration head Serhii Lysak.
It is reported that the Russian attack on Odesa damaged civilian infrastructure, residential buildings, and the area of a construction site.
According to preliminary information, a woman was injured and taken to a medical facility with shrapnel wounds, where she is receiving treatment. Another woman was rescued from a damaged building; her condition is described as stable, and her life is not in danger.
It was also reported that windows were blown out in nearby residential buildings in the area where a drone struck.
Local groups and public pages said that electricity was cut off in some districts of Odesa.
Strikes on Ukraine: what is known
As a result of a missile strike on Kharkiv and the region on January 26, damage to civilian infrastructure and power outages were reported, with casualties confirmed. This was reported by Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov, Kharkiv Regional Military Administration head Oleh Syniehubov, and Chuhuiv Mayor Halyna Minaieva on Telegram.
According to preliminary data, one person was injured in Kharkiv, with another later reported wounded. In the Industrialny district, residential high-rise buildings and schools were damaged, and residents reported disruptions to water, electricity, and heating supplies.
Train service on the Saltivska and Oleksiivska metro lines was temporarily suspended for technical reasons, and the Akademika Pavlova station was closed to passengers.
In the Kharkiv region, strikes on critical infrastructure left several settlements, including Chuhuiv, without power, with the scale of damage still being clarified.
Meanwhile, in Kryvyi Rih, efforts are ongoing to deal with the aftermath of a Russian drone strike on a residential building. A Shahed-type drone hit a high-rise apartment block, after which assistance centers were set up and temporary accommodation was arranged for affected residents due to low temperatures.
