Russian forces dropped a record number of aviation bombs on Beryslav and Krynky in the Kherson region overnight. Occupiers also shelled Kherson during the night, according to a statement from the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ihor Klymenko.

"During the night, the occupiers conducted 12 airstrikes on the village of Krynky and the city of Beryslav. In total, over the past day, the enemy has dropped 87 aviation bombs on populated areas in the Kherson region – the highest number ever recorded," he said.

In addition, according to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the enemy attacked Kherson again in the evening and at night.

"Around 3 AM, the enemy shelled the city again. Two private houses were damaged," Klymenko said.

The Russian military also struck the city in the evening, damaging four multi-story buildings, with one of them having a collapsed ceiling in one of the apartments.

"Fortunately, there were no casualties," he added.

Situation in the Krynky area of the Kherson region

The village of Krynky in the Kherson region is located on the left bank of the Dnipro River, on a territory currently under temporary occupation by Russian forces. Russia seized this area during its large-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. In mid-October, it became known from a report by the Institute for the Study of War dated October 19th that Ukrainian forces had made advancements to the northeast of Krynky in the Kherson region.

Later, on October 21st, analysts reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) were conducting larger-than-usual ground operations on the left bank of the Kherson region. Specifically, Ukrainian soldiers were engaged in combat in the village of Krynky. Meanwhile, Russian forces were attempting to hinder UAF's efforts to establish a presence in Krynky on the left bank of the Kherson region and establish supply routes in that area.
