The number of casualties from yesterday's (May 5) shelling by Russian invaders has increased in Kharkiv. Currently, 16 people have been injured, according to the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov.

According to him, as a result of Russian shelling of Shevchenkivskyi and Kyivskyi districts of the city with guided bombs, 14 apartment buildings were damaged.

Three cars, a medical facility, a dormitory, an office building, eight private houses, garages, and a café were also affected. Additionally, three private houses were destroyed as a result of the attack.

Shelling of Kharkiv

Shelling of Kharkiv began on February 24, 2022, from the first hours of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Since then, the city has been experiencing regular bombardments and shelling by Russian forces.

During this time, Kharkiv has become one of the cities most affected by the war. Many residential buildings, schools, hospitals, and other civilian objects have been destroyed or damaged.

On May 5, 2024, Russian occupiers carried out an air strike on the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kharkiv. As a result of the shelling, residential buildings, private structures, and cars were damaged.

Initially, two casualties were reported, but later the number of injured increased to 15.
