The number of killed by a Russian rocket attack on Chernihiv has increased again. Fourteen people were killed, according to Andriy Podorvan, according to the advisor to the head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration.

"Unfortunately, the death toll has risen to 14. More than 60 people were injured of varying degrees, including three children... Several dozen children have been hospitalized in Chernihiv city hospitals and are being provided with appropriate assistance," he says.

Search and rescue operations in Chernihiv continue. According to the advisor to the head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, some missing persons have not yet been contacted.

"We have data on missing persons, there are several people who have not yet contacted us and it is known that they are not far from the place of 'arrival'. There is hope that someone else will be found," he adds.

The National Police also reported that 25-year-old police lieutenant Alina Mykolayets was killed in the Russian attack.

"She was at home on sick leave when Russia launched a missile attack on a densely populated residential area of Chernihiv. Alina Mykolayets, an inspector of the patrol police response department of the Chernihiv district police department, had been serving in the police since June 2023," the statement says.

On the morning of April 17, the Russian troops launched three missile strikes on Chernihiv, the Russians used Iskanders. The attack was on the central district of the city. More than 60 people were injured in the attack, including children.

There was a direct strike on a social infrastructure building. A hospital and the central building of Chernihiv Polytechnic were damaged.
