In Kharkiv, seven people were injured as a result of a Russian attack on a sports field in the Saltivskyi district, according to the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office on Telegram.

As clarified by the prosecutor's office, Russian forces targeted the stadium of one of the schools in the Saltivskyi district.

"Seven civilians sustained injuries, including: an 8-year-old girl, two 14-year-old boys, a 15-year-old boy, a 55-year-old man, and two women," the statement said.

The school and nearby residential buildings were damaged. Law enforcement and explosive experts are determining the type of weaponry used in the strike.

Law enforcement has initiated a pre-trial investigation into the violation of laws and customs of war.

Strike on Kharkiv

Russian forces struck Kharkiv today, May 8, during the day. There was no air raid alarm sounded in the city during the attack.

Initially, three injured boys were reported. Later, the number of wounded increased to five.

According to Dmytro Chubenko, spokesperson for the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, no alarm was sounded because radars did not detect the missile.
