Greece is studying Ukraine's new requests for military assistance. They include air defense systems, artillery shells, and even RM-70 MLRS, according to eKathimerini.

Amidst a new Russian advance on various fronts in Ukraine, Athens is reviewing a list of old and new requests from Kyiv for military assistance from the reserves of the Greek Armed Forces.

At the same time, Greece has pledged to continue providing aid to Kyiv until it does not negatively impact the deterrent capability of the Greek Armed Forces.

“In other words, it will not provide anti-aircraft systems until they are replaced with new ones,” the journalists explained.

Ukraine's requests

Ukraine's new requests are addressed to all NATO partners providing material support to Kyiv.

Requests to Greece include missiles for anti-aircraft systems, Patriot, and S-300 systems. Additionally, Ukraine would like to receive:

  • Spare parts for F-16 fighter jets and F-16 jets;
  • Multiple Launch Rocket Systems (MLRS) RM-70;
  • Engineering equipment;
  • Harpoon anti-ship missile systems;
  • Artillery shells of 155, 152, 122, and 102 mm caliber;
  • Mortar and tank shells of 125, 120, 105, 30, 35, and 40 mm caliber

Greece's assistance to Ukraine

Greece has been helping Ukraine militarily since the beginning of the war, although it is not a leader in this matter.

In early April, iEidiseis wrote that Greece was planning to supply Ukraine with a large batch of ammunition and was going to involve the Czech Republic for this purpose.
