NATO does not believe that the incident with the fall of the debris of a Russian drone in Romania was an intentional attack by Russia, according to the NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, as reported by Reuters.

Three days after the incident in Romania, NATO commented on the events. However, the alliance does not believe that it was an attack by Russia.

"We don't have any information indicating an intentional attack by Russia, and we are awaiting the outcome of the ongoing investigation," NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg told EU lawmakers.

Backstory

On the night of September 4, the Russian occupiers once again attacked port infrastructure in Odesa region with kamikaze drones.

Afterward, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reported that the debris of a Russian Shahed fell on the territory of Romania, which is a NATO member. However, the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Defense denied this information.

Yesterday, on September 5, Romanian Defense Minister Angel Tilvar admitted that the debris of a Russian drone had fallen on Romanian territory near the border with Ukraine.
