Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski responded to US President Donald Trump, who said that the incursion of Russian drones into Polish territory could have been a mistake.

“No, it was not a mistake,” Sikorski replied briefly and categorically to the US president on X.

Journalists asked Trump what his reaction was to the incursion of Russian drones into Poland. To which the US president replied, it could have been a "mistake."

He added that he was “not happy about anything having to do with that whole situation.” He traditionally expressed hope that “all this will end soon.”

Earlier, Sikorski said in an interview that Trump should already see that Russian president Vladimir Putin is mocking him and has no intention of ending the war against Ukraine.

Russia's attack on Poland

On the night of September 10, during a massive Russian attack on Ukraine, about 20 Russian drones flew into Polish airspace. Air defense forces managed to shoot down only four drones.

According to the latest information, the wreckage of 16 Russian drones that flew into Polish territory during the attack has been found in Poland. One of the drones fell on the territory of a military base.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte called the Alliance's response to the incident in Poland “very successful.” He stressed that last night showed NATO's readiness to defend every inch of its territory, including its airspace.

In response to Russia's attack, NATO invoked Article 4. This will enable member states to consult with their allies in the North Atlantic Council regarding the situation.
