Norway will provide Ukraine with support in the form of drones and drone technology worth 6.5 billion Norwegian kroner (640 million dollars), according to the website of the Norwegian government.

According to Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, drones are crucial for Ukraine in its fight against Russia. They are also important for protecting critical infrastructure and for frontline combat.

The aid announcement aligns with one of the objectives of the increased budget of 50 billion kroner (4.92 billion dollars). As stated on the government's website, priority is being given to meeting Ukraine's military needs, including air defense, drones, artillery, and the procurement of equipment from Ukrainian industry.

"This support will help build Ukraine's independent deterrence capability, which will also be important in the event of a peace agreement. Norway is purchasing materials that are vital for Ukraine in its defense struggle. We will continue to provide support in the areas of maritime security, air defense, drones, and autonomous systems," said Minister of Defense Tore Sandvik.

Norway's support for Ukraine

Norway has been supporting Ukraine during the full-scale war, demonstrating solidarity both politically and on a humanitarian level. The country actively participates in international efforts aimed at strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities and supports diplomatic initiatives to hold the aggressor accountable.

In April, Norway joined the Drone Coalition. Additionally, in June, during a meeting of the Ramstein format, the country announced an allocation of 700 million dollars for drones, with a focus on supporting Ukraine's defense industry, and 50 million dollars to the NSATU Trust Fund.
