Norway to allocate over $92 million to bolster Ukraine's air defense
Norway will allocate 1 billion Norwegian kroner ($92.69 million) to support Ukraine's air defense, according to Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.
The donation announcement came a day after Norway revealed it would send six F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine to assist in defending against Russian air attacks.
"The Ukrainians need more air defense to protect their population from Russian bombs and missiles," said Støre.
Norway's support for Ukraine
Since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022, Norway has been providing unwavering and substantial support to Ukraine. Norway has already provided Ukraine with 15 billion Norwegian kroner (approximately $1.5 billion) in direct financial support. These funds are aimed at strengthening Ukraine's economy and defense capabilities.
In April, it was reported that Norway plans a substantial increase in aid to Ukraine.
Additionally, yesterday Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre announced that Norway will send six F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine.
