Jonas Gahr Stoere says Norway wants to increase funding for assistance to Ukraine next year. The country's authorities plan to allocate NOK 30 billion (USD 2.7 billion), according to Sky News.

The government will allocate 30 billion Norwegian kroner (2.7 billion dollars) to help Ukraine in the draft state budget for 2025.

Earlier in the draft state budget, spending on aid to Ukraine was supposed to be reduced to NOK 15 billion ($1.36 billion). This is because, in 2024, NOK 27 billion ($2.44 billion) was allocated to support Ukrainians.

After that, opposition parties began to sharply criticize this decision. The Conservative Party proposed spending NOK 45 billion (over $4 billion) next year.

Norway's assistance to Ukraine

Norway has been providing military aid to Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion.

It was one of the few countries that decided to provide Ukrainian pilots with F-16 fighter jets. It is planned that Ukraine will receive six Norwegian F-16s by the end of the year.

Norway has also decided to join Denmark's initiative to invest directly in Ukraine's defense industry.
