Norway has announced the allocation of 200 million Norwegian kroner (17 million euros) to the World Food Programme, including the humanitarian food program Grain from Ukraine, according to the press service of the Norwegian government.

Another 50 million Norwegian kroner (4.2 million euros) will be transferred to the World Bank's Ukraine Fund.

"Norway will continue to support the people of Ukraine. At the same time, we have not lost sight of other crises globally. The Nansen programme is one example of how we manage to combine those efforts," said Norwegian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Espen Barth Eide.

It is emphasized that an additional 150 million Norwegian kroner (12.7 million euros) will be allocated to the World Food Programme in response to its call for emergency aid to Ukraine. Besides providing food assistance near the front lines, these funds will be used for demining agricultural land, enabling farmers to quickly return to food production.

Norway's assistance

In October, Norway announced financial assistance for demining efforts in Ukraine, amounting to 18.5 million dollars.

Later, Norway allocated one billion kroner (84 million euros) to Norwegian organizations assisting Ukrainians.

Recently, Ukrainian border guards received a mobile radiation monitoring complex from Norway. This equipment is used in areas with high radiation threat levels to assess the radiation environment.
