North Korea is helping Russia in its war against Ukraine. In exchange, the DPRK wants to receive Russian technology, says Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha at a press conference with his Japanese counterpart.

“According to Ukrainian intelligence, Pyongyang wants to exchange its participation in the aggression against Ukraine for access to Russian technologies in missile, nuclear, and other military programs. This is extremely threatening and cannot but worry our partners,” he said.

Sybiha emphasized that such global threats must be countered together. Only strong support can stop the aggressor.

“Only strong and systematic support for Ukraine can stop Russia and bring a just and sustainable peace. Russia's defeat in Ukraine will stop other aggressors and the entire Axis of Evil from pursuing aggressive plans,” the minister said.

DPRK joins the war

North Korea has sent troops to help Russia in its war against Ukraine. The North Korean military was trained at grounds in eastern Russia. Some DPRK soldiers were sent to the Kursk region. They have already taken part in hostilities.

According to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, 11,000 North Korean soldiers are already in the Kursk region.

The New York Times reported that Russia had assembled a group of 50,000 troops in the Kursk region, including DPRK soldiers.
