Zelenskyy: 11,000 North Korean soldiers now in Russia’s Kursk region
Ukrainian intelligence has reported that there are now 11,000 North Korean soldiers in Russia’s Kursk region. Their number in the region is increasing, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The President stated that both the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine and the Foreign Intelligence Service had briefed him on the situation.
"Regarding North Korean soldiers on Russian territory, there are now 11,000 in the Kursk region. We see an increase in North Koreans and, unfortunately, no increase in response from our partners," Zelenskyy noted.
He also reminded that it will soon be three months since the start of Ukraine’s operation in the Kursk region. Ukrainian defenders keep the “sanitary zone” near the border under control.
The President emphasized that the Kursk operation has significantly contributed to freeing Ukrainian defenders from Russian captivity.
North Korean soldiers in the Kursk region
According to the latest information from US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, there were 8,000 North Korean soldiers in the Kursk region.
Today, November 4, it was reported that North Korean soldiers in the Kursk region came under shelling. However, there is no detailed information on the results of the attack.
Additionally, The Korea Herald wrote that Russia would pay North Korean soldiers $2,000 per month.
