North Korea cynically denies sending troops to Ukraine
North Korea assures that it has not sent its soldiers to Russia for the war against Ukraine. Pyongyang considers this information to be "groundless rumors", according to the North Korean representative to the United Nations Ja Song-nam.
"As for the so-called military cooperation with Russia, my delegation does not feel any need for comment on such groundless stereotyped rumors," he said during a session of the UN General Assembly First Committee on disarmament and international security.
He also added that, in his opinion, the goal of such rumors is supposedly smearing the image of North Korea and "undermining the legitimate, friendly and cooperative relations between two sovereign states."
Yonhap noted that this is the first public comment from a North Korean official regarding information about sending North Korean soldiers to Russia for the war against Ukraine.
Cha Song-nam responded to claims made by Ukraine’s Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the United Nations, Sergiy Kyslytsya, that North Korea plans to send 11,000 of its soldiers to fight in Ukraine.
North Korean soldiers may fight against Ukraine
As reported by RBC-Ukraine sources, North Korean soldiers have already been delivered to Russia, where they are being prepared for war against Ukraine.
The Strategic Communications Center SPRAVDI released a video showing North Korean soldiers receiving Russian military uniforms. The video was recorded at a Russian training ground in the Far East.
Additionally, on October 22, new video evidence of North Korean military presence in Russia was shared online.
