US President Donald Trump will attend the G7 summit next week alongside Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. However, no separate bilateral meeting is planned, according to The Guardian and Bloomberg.

The G7 summit will take place from June 15 to 17 in Evian. In addition to participating in the G7 working session, Trump has a series of bilateral meetings scheduled.

According to a White House official, the US leader will meet with French President Emmanuel Macron, as well as the leaders of Qatar, the UAE, Egypt, and India. However, no separate meeting with President Zelenskyy is scheduled. Sources from both agencies confirm this information.

Additionally, a senior US official, speaking on condition of anonymity, says that Russia’s gains have "more or less stopped."

"We want the war to end as quickly as possible," he adds.

What else is important to know

Trump and Zelenskyy will participate together in a working session of G7 leaders.

The leaders plan to discuss the Ukrainian issue during the first working session, and the main goal is to form a unified position on supporting Ukraine.

The leaders of France, Germany, and the UK intend to use the G7 summit to persuade Trump to change his approach to negotiations with Russia regarding the war in Ukraine. Specifically, they advocate for an immediate ceasefire, starting negotiations based on the current front line, and restoring a more significant role for Europe in the negotiation process.
