No signs Russia intends to end war, Zelenskyy says

Russia is not demonstrating readiness to end the war against Ukraine. There are no signs indicating this, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
According to the head of the Ukrainian state, he met with Swiss President Karin Keller-Sutter in New York. They discussed diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving peace in Ukraine.
Zelenskyy emphasized that he is ready to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin and that he values Switzerland's readiness to host such a meeting.
"But we see that so far there are no steps that would indicate that Russia wants to end the war," he added.
Another topic of discussion was cooperation between Ukraine and Switzerland related to the implementation of a significant cultural project. The leaders also raised the issue of continuing partnership in the field of food security.
Russia does not want to end the war
Russia continues its attempts to occupy Ukrainian territory and does not want to enter peace negotiations.
Ukrainian officials have repeatedly proposed to the Russians to hold a meeting at the level of leaders. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has also expressed readiness for a meeting in such a format.
In turn, Russian President Vladimir Putin constantly found excuses. In particular, he proposed that Zelenskyy come to Moscow for a meeting, which under current conditions is impossible.
