A closed meeting of the Coalition of the Willing, comprising 35 countries, will take place in Madrid to discuss new ways to support Ukraine. Participants will work without mobile phones and will not disclose any details, reports El Mundo.

Spain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs will hold a secret and closed summit of the Coalition of the Willing next Tuesday, November 4.

According to a document obtained by the media, this will be a meeting of the directors general from 35 countries that are part of the coalition, to discuss how to continue providing assistance to Ukraine.

The event is scheduled to start at 9:00 a.m. and end after 3:30 p.m., with two discussion blocks focused on providing aid to Kyiv ahead of the fourth anniversary of the war.

The meeting will be organized with maximum secrecy. In fact, participants have been warned that mobile phones are prohibited and that they must not disclose details of the meeting.

“Delegates are asked not to post information about the meeting on public platforms or social networks,” the article notes.

During the first session, they will discuss how to increase support for Ukraine, to continue discussions on addressing Ukraine’s urgent financial needs, particularly those related to its military and defense efforts, as well as coordinating initiatives to strengthen pressure on Russia.

Among other things, they aim to clarify aid priorities and reach certain agreements.

Coalition of the Willing

On the eve of the previous meeting of the Coalition of the Willing, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron. The leaders discussed the war, pressure on Russia, and the consequences of massive strikes on Ukraine’s energy sector.

Then, on Sunday, October 19, the President of Ukraine said he had instructed Ukrainian diplomats to prepare a new meeting of the Coalition of the Willing. According to him, strong positions are needed in Europe.

On October 25, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced that the Coalition of the Willing had prepared a plan for Ukraine to be implemented by the end of 2025.

He also urged other countries to stop purchasing Russian resources “stained with war.”
