No official proposals to end war in Ukraine, Zelenskyy's advisor
As of today, there are no official proposals to end the full-scale war in Ukraine. Kyiv's position remains unchanged - no territorial concessions, Mykhailo Podolyak, Advisor to the Head of the Office of Ukraine's President, says in a comment to RBC-Ukraine YouTube channel.
According to Podolyak, a ceasefire today would only mean the end of the war at Ukraine's expense and serve as a stimulus for Russia to continue its expansion, with the possibility of accumulating resources.
"Because Russia has not yet fully realized the objectives it set for itself, and undoubtedly, these objectives are much broader than capturing parts of the Donetsk or Luhansk regions. Therefore, there are no official proposals today on how to end this. Aside from the official positions of Ukraine and Russia," Zelenskyy's advisor added.
Podolyak also reminded that Russia wants to seize four full Ukrainian regions. Meanwhile, Ukraine's position is that the full-scale war cannot be ended through concessions, as this would violate international law.
"If you are ready to destroy international law, then please, let's talk about that," Zelenskyy's advisor added.
Podolyak also emphasized that, in addition to the legal end of the war, it is important to force Russia into political transformation so that it does not continue insisting on its right to dominate through violence.
Talks on end of full-scale war
Discussions about resolving the full-scale war in Ukraine have recently intensified.
On December 7, a trilateral meeting took place between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, French President Emmanuel Macron, and the 47th President of the United States, Donald Trump. Trump has repeatedly stated his desire to end the full-scale war in Ukraine as soon as possible. According to Zelenskyy, the meeting was "good and productive," and peace through strength is possible.
Meanwhile, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated that peace negotiations to end the war between Ukraine and Russia could begin as early as this winter.
