Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron and US President-elect Donald Trump. The meeting took place at the Élysée Palace.

Zelenskyy emphasized that President-elect Trump, as always, was resolute.

“I thank him. I also extend my gratitude to Emmanuel for organizing this important meeting. We all want this war to end as soon as possible and in a just way. We spoke about our people, the situation on the ground, and a just peace,” the President explained.

At the same time, the Head of State emphasized that during the conversation they had agreed to continue working together and keep in touch.

“Peace through strength is possible,” Zelensky emphasized.

Later, Zelenskyy spoke briefly with Ukrainian media at the opening ceremony of Notre Dame Cathedral. There, he said that he had spoken with Trump about how to support Ukraine and how strong Ukrainians are, who have withstood the onslaught of Russian aggression

“And that we all want peace. Our position is important to ensure that the peace is fair. And that Putin has no chance to come back. And strong security guarantees for Ukraine,” the president said.

According to Zelenskyy, it is important that partners know about Ukraine's position not from anyone, but from Ukraine.

“No agreements are possible without Ukraine,” he summarized.

As reported earlier, the President met with US President-elect Donald Trump in Paris.

This is their first meeting after the US election, but the second within a year.
