No country can stop Ukraine's path to EU membership - Zelenskyy

Ukraine needs support on its path toward joining the European Union, but no single country will be able to stop its future membership, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said during a briefing with EU leaders.
Zelenskyy said that Ukraine needs support and expressed confidence that no country would be able to stop Ukraine on its path toward the European Union. He emphasized that while much depends on the unity of EU decisions, Ukraine will do everything it can on its side, but full backing from all EU member states is necessary.
For her part, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, whose country currently holds the EU Council presidency, noted that Ukraine and the EU are already considering how to move forward most effectively. She added that she feels the majority of EU member states support Ukraine's membership.
Ukraine's EU accession talks
Ukraine has not yet begun accession negotiations with the European Union, despite the fact that EU leaders supported the move at the end of 2023.
The start of talks continues to be blocked by Hungary. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán even conducted a public survey in Hungary regarding Ukraine's accession to the EU.
According to Orbán, 95% of Hungarians allegedly did not support Ukraine's membership in the bloc.
