Europe will work on the peace plan initiated by the United States. There are no plans to develop its own separate proposal, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated during his address in the House of Commons.

Starmer said that at the G20 summit held in South Africa on November 20–21, there was an intensive discussion about the US peace plan involving "a number of key allies" — France and Germany, as well as major partners from the Coalition of the Willing.

"And the strong consensus was that we should work with the text that's in existence, unacceptable, although some parts of it are, because other parts are essential, rather than a different text," the prime minister emphasized.

According to him, this is exactly the process that took place in Geneva during the meeting between the Ukrainian and American delegations.

Rumors about a European peace plan

On November 23, Western media reported that European countries had developed their own peace plan to end the war in Ukraine.

This came after the United States announced the creation of a peace plan consisting of 28 points and presented it to Ukrainian officials in Kyiv.

According to the rumors, European countries proposed that territorial issues be discussed solely on the basis of the current front line. The United States, however, suggested transferring the Donetsk and Luhansk regions under Russian control.

The European plan also envisioned a complete ceasefire — in the air, on land, and at sea — followed by negotiations between Kyiv and Moscow.

Yuri Ushakov, an aide to the Russian President, stated that the European plan that appeared in the media "does not suit" Russia.
