Nighttime air attack - All Russian Shahed drones shot down
The Russian army used kamikaze drones and a ballistic missile for their latest air attack on Ukraine tonight. All enemy drones were destroyed by the Ukrainian Air Defense Forces, according to the Commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Mykola Oleschuk.
It is noted that the Russian army used the following for the attack on the night of May 14:
- 18 Shahed-131/136 attack UAVs, launched from Cape Chauda,
- 1 Iskander-M ballistic missile - also launched from the occupied Crimea.
The combat operations to repel the air attack took place in eight regions.
"As a result of the air defense battle, all 18 enemy Shaheds were shot down within the Kyiv, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Khmelnytskyi regions," Oleschuk said.
He specified that the enemy's attack was repelled by:
- fighter aviation,
- air defense missile forces,
- mobile fire groups,
- radio-electronic warfare units.
Nighttime air attack
Earlier, it was reported that on the evening of May 13, information was received about the enemy launching several groups of Shahed kamikaze drones for strikes on Ukrainian territory. Air raid alerts were issued in several regions.
Later, it became known about the air defense operations in the Kyiv region due to the kamikaze drones of the Russian army.
During the night, movements of Shaheds were observed, including in western regions. The Air Force command also reported a ballistic threat.
Additionally, there was an explosion in Kharkiv in the morning, with the enemy targeting the Kyiv district of the city. There were no casualties.
