In Odesa, the body of a 32-year-old man was recovered from the rubble of a residential high-rise. He is the first confirmed victim of the massive overnight Russian strike on the city, according to the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper.

"Unfortunately, a man was killed in last night’s Russian drone attack on Odesa. His body was just recovered by rescuers from under the rubble of a residential high-rise. He was 32 years old. My sincere condolences to his family and loved ones," Kiper wrote.

According to him, the dismantling of structural elements of the damaged building is still ongoing.

Attack on Odesa

On the night of July 24, Odesa was attacked by more than 30 Russian drones. The strike caused a fire at the Pryvoz market and damaged architectural landmarks in the city’s historic center.

According to Odesa Mayor Hennadii Trukhanov, the world-famous Prymorskyi Boulevard was also hit.

A nine-story residential building suffered significant damage from the drone attack, with apartments on the 5th to 8th floors destroyed. Four people and one pet cat were injured as a result of the strike
