Night strike on Kharkiv: emergency crews show rescue footage

Russian forces launched a combined strike on Kharkiv overnight on June 5, using kamikaze drones and a missile. At least 17 people were injured in the attack, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES).
"According to preliminary data, 17 people were injured, including 4 children. The strikes caused damage to multi-story residential buildings and civilian vehicles. Three separate fires broke out: an apartment on the top floor of a 17-story building, an apartment on the 2nd floor, and a basement in a 5-story building, as well as three passenger cars," the State Emergency Service (SES) reported.
SES units responded to the scene, including bomb disposal teams and canine units, while SES psychologists assisted affected residents.
Russian strikes on Ukraine overnight, June 5
During the night of June 5, Russian forces launched attacks across multiple regions of Ukraine. Strikes were reported in Kharkiv, Chernihiv, and Kherson regions, while air defense activity was also reported in the Odesa region.
In Kharkiv, there were six confirmed Shahed drone strikes. One drone failed to detonate, while another hit an apartment on the 17th floor of a high-rise building. A separate strike hit the second floor of another apartment block. In total, seven residential buildings were damaged in the Slobidskyi district, and four vehicles parked in courtyards were completely destroyed by fire.
Russian forces also struck Pryluky in the Chernihiv region. At least five people were killed in the attack, including two women and a one-year-old child. Six others were injured and transported to local hospitals.
By morning, drones and Russian aircraft targeted central Kherson. One person, a 74-year-old man, was injured and hospitalized with blast injuries.
