Government response

The head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration urged residents not to ignore air raid alerts and to follow safety protocols. He also emphasized that attacks on civilians constitute yet another war crime by Russia.

"When children are killed, this is no longer just war, it is deliberate terror. We will not forget, and we will not forgive," wrote one local official.

Ukraine is once again calling on international partners to step up the supply of air defense systems to protect civilians from aerial terror.

Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces used 1,074 kamikaze drones and carried out 3,603 attacks on Ukrainian military positions and populated areas along the front line.

Additionally, on the night of June 5, Russian forces launched a missile strike on Kharkiv, targeting densely populated residential areas in the city’s Slobidskyi district.
