Russian military used Kalibr cruise missiles for another air attack on Ukrainian territory last night. Two of them were shot down by the air defense forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, according to the Commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk.

It is specified that the invaders used a total of three Kalibr missiles for this attack, targeting Ukraine once again from the waters of the Sea of Azov, as they did the previous night.

"On the night of June 23, 2024, the enemy attacked with three Kalibr sea-launched cruise missiles from the waters of the Sea of Azov," the general's report stated.

He added that two of the enemy's missiles were shot down by anti-aircraft missile units of the Air Forces in the Kyiv region.

Missile attack on Ukraine

It was previously reported that on the night of June 23, Russian forces launched another air attack on Ukrainian territory. Around five o'clock in the morning, air raid sirens were sounded in Kyiv and several other regions. The Air Forces Command announced an enemy missile attack from the south.

Later, explosions were heard in the Kyiv area. The Mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, and the Kyiv Regional Military Administration reported that air defense systems were active in the city and region due to the enemy missile strike.

Additionally, the Ukrainian Navy noted that Russia began launching Kalibr missiles at Ukraine from the Sea of Azov during the previous night's attack. Ukrainian military officials called this a turning point.
