Night attack on Odesa region: Russians used Shahed drones from new batch
Overnight, Russians attacked the Odesa region using Shahed kamikaze drones from a new batch, as Head of the United Coordinating Press Center of Security and Defense Forces of the South of Ukraine Natalia Humeniuk says to Espreso TV.
"Russians carefully choose the timing of their attacks, and they plan these operations. The planning is based on available forces and resources. We noticed an increase in cargo air transport activity from the Tehran-Moscow direction before the attacks on the Odesa region, which may indicate the arrival of an additional batch of Shahed drones," she said.
Humeniuk notes that the Russians are attempting to destroy Ukraine's civilian infrastructure in a cost-effective manner.
"We saw markings on the wreckage of the downed drones that confirm they belong to a new batch. It's evident that the Russians are saving their missiles, as replenishing this supply is not so simple and much more expensive. The enemy is trying to destroy civilian infrastructure using a cheaper method," she added.
Night attack on the Odesa region
On Monday night, September 4th, Russian occupiers once again attempted to strike the Odesa region using Shahed kamikaze drones.
Later, the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement claiming that during the attack, some drones crashed and exploded on Romanian territory. However, Bucharest denied this information.
