The new US chargé d'affaires in Kyiv began his tenure by celebrating religious freedom at Ukraine's National Prayer Breakfast, the US Embassy in Ukraine reports.
According to US Chargé d'Affaires Paul Houston, this year, as the United States celebrates its 250th anniversary, it was an honor for him to begin his work in Kyiv by celebrating religious freedom at Ukraine's National Prayer Breakfast, which coincided with the 35th anniversary of Ukraine's independence.

"I look forward to working to advance freedom and peace as the long-term Chargé d’Affaires at U.S. Embassy Kyiv," Houston said.
Notably, the United States is celebrating its 250th anniversary of independence this year. Earlier, the US Senate approved a sanctions bill targeting Russia authored by the late Senator Lindsey Graham. Kyiv expects Congress to support the legislation in early fall.
