Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russia plans to deploy four drone control stations in Belarus, according to Zelenskyy’s statement on Telegram.

"We have clear information that Russia plans further deployment of long-range drone control stations both on the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine and of four stations on the territory of Belarus," the president emphasized.

He added that he instructed the Chief of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense, Oleh Ivashchenko, to inform Ukraine’s partners and media representatives about the data that can be made public.

Belarus’s role in the war

Ukrainian hackers have secretly monitored Russian drone operators for over six months and gathered evidence of Belarusian territory being used for attacks on Ukraine.

At the end of February, Volodymyr Zelenskyy hinted at operations to destroy towers supporting Shahed drones on Belarusian territory. The aggressor country used these towers to operate jet drones.

Russian drones

Russian forces actively use inexpensive reconnaissance drones, Molniya, for battlefield surveillance. Previously, the enemy used more expensive UAVs — Orlans, Zalas, and Supercams, which cost tens of thousands of dollars.

RBC-Ukraine previously reported that Russia carried out a high-profile attack on Kyiv using 40 costly Lancet drones. These drones had little chance of success due to limited flight range, and the operation was purely propaganda in nature.
