According to the news agency, the majority of Republican members of the House of Representatives voted to strip Jordan of his status as the main candidate for the position of Speaker from the party.
According to congressmen who participated in the secret ballot, Jordan has reportedly accepted these results.
The new candidate elections by members of the Republican Party are scheduled for Monday, October 23. The voting in the House of Representatives will take place the next day, on October 24.
Austin Scott has already put forward his candidacy after losing to Jordan in the previous candidates' forum.
