Russia’s latest attacks on Ukraine show that Russian President Vladimir Putin does not want peace. Europe must strengthen its military support for Ukraine, according to Kaja Kallas, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.

“Russian missiles keep relentlessly falling on Ukraine, bringing more death and more destruction. Once again, Putin shows he has no interest in peace,” she wrote.

The EU’s top diplomat stated that Europe must step up its military support for Ukraine. Otherwise, “even more Ukrainian civilians will pay the highest price.”

Massive attacks on Ukraine

On the night of March 8, Russia launched two ballistic missiles, an Iskander-K cruise missile, and 145 drones at Ukraine. Air defense forces shot down 79 drones and a cruise missile. Another 54 enemy decoy drones were lost on radar without causing harm.

Odesa and Kharkiv regions were hit, and in the evening, the enemy also struck Dobropillia in the Donetsk region. The attack killed 11 people and injured 40 others.

Additionally, on March 7, the Russian army carried out a combined strike on Ukraine, using dozens of missiles and more than a hundred drones. The enemy targeted energy and gas infrastructure in various regions.
